Day 1 - Arrive in Kristiansand
We will be collected by our host from the airport and expect to arrive at the our accommodation in the evening, having stopped for groceries and food. There will be no photography tonight but we do discuss what to expect for the next few days, what camera gear to use and what the days are likely to be like.
Day 2 - Hide
We can only get into the hides before dark and leave after dark. This is so that we do not scare off any wildlife and hence ensure the most natural experience possible. The hides have heating and toilet and can accommodate up to 4 people each so we will be well equipped for what the conditions throw at us. It's an early start.
Day 3 - Hide
Much the same as Day 2 but we will move to the other hide (there are 2) which will allow us a slightly different view. Everything else remains pretty much the same.
Day 4 - Hide
Having now used both hides, the last day allows us to choose our favourite one and spend our last day there. Everything else remains pretty much the same.
Day 5 - Travel back to UK
Having spent our final evening shooting eagles and having a god laugh, we get a ride back to the airport with our host, where we then embark on our flight back home to the UK.
Tuition, Field Craft, Techniques
I will be available all the time to discuss any techniques, camera setting or field craft that you may need help with. Two sessions are given to help everyone with the aspects of this photography trip - a technical session on Day 2 to prepare you for the photographic sessions and a post-processing session on Day 4 to help you think about how you will edit your photos and produce your final images.
What To Expect
What to bring (this will not be provided by your host)
Your photographic equipment - check recommendations
Any medication you may need for the duration of the tour.
We will be sheltered by the hides, so adverse weather is not something we need to be concerned with, but please bring what you would consider to be suitable clothing.
Optional: Binoculars
Walking during the workshop
There may be very little walking to reach the hides and you may want to explore some of the areas close to the lodging, on foot. Apart from this, there should be no further strenuous walking.
Transportation and Parking
Transfers between the airport (Kristiansand) and the guest house is included. As is the transportation from the guesthouse to the hides. We don't envisage that any other transportation will be required.
Food
All meals are included and will be prepared at the guest house - any allergies and special requirements will need to be advised and arranged prior to departure.
Photographic Experience
Whatever your knowledge and experience, you are welcome! All levels of photography are catered for.
