VICTOR SOARES
I am a South African born wildlife photographer now based in Surrey, UK. From as far back as I can remember, I have loved wildlife and the great outdoors and am happiest when outside, exploring, taking in the fresh air and experiencing the true beauty of our natural world.
Photography has allowed me to witness and showcase wildlife the way I view and experience it. In most of my photography, I try to capture the personalities behind the creatures and hope that my images allow the viewers to get a sense of the individual rather than the species.
I arrange and lead photographic workshops and tours that allow the participants to witness and photograph some of the most intriguing and charismatic wildlife that I have seen and experienced.
My photography has been featured in a range of publications from magazines to coffee table books and often appears online. I am also fortunate enough to have won or been well placed in both local and international photographic competitions.

I recently participated in Victor Soares's "Overnight Stay in Skomer" photography workshop and tour, which was an exceptional experience! He is incredibly knowledgeable and provides personalized guidance, making complex wildlife techniques easy to understand for all skill levels even for a landscape photographer like me!
The Skomer Island of course is breath-taking offering diverse opportunities for both landscape and wildlife photography. Victor throughout the tour was hands-on and suggested new techniques and compositions depending on the weather & environment.
The atmosphere was supportive and friendly, fostering a great sense of connection among participants too. The tour organization starting from driving to Skomer Island, delicious home-cooked food every day, and editing sessions all were flawless, allowing us to focus entirely on photography.
Overall, this workshop tour was fantastic for enhancing my wildlife photography skills, and observing and capturing not only hundreds of Puffins up close but so many other birds I have never seen, butterflies, and rabbits all in their natural untouched beautiful habitat! Highly recommended!
